Recently there was a lot of buzz about the pay-per-view boxing faceoff between UFC mixed martial artist Conor McGregor and undefeated professional boxer Floyd Mayweather. Mayweather won, by TKO in the 10th round, but neither really lost – they both walked away very rich men.
In the days leading up to the fight, I was inspired by a piece of content that I thought was very creative.
After a terrible attempt to perform McGregor’s “dance” moves, I realized what a cool and creative piece of content this was, that was distributed in a very strategic and timely manner.
This video made me want to watch the upcoming fight, without saying anything about it.
I’m not sure who created it. If it was a promoting firm, well done. If it was an up-and-coming YouTuber capitalizing on the opportunity at hand, also well done. It doesn’t really matter. The key take-away here is that creative content strategically distributed can be very effective.
